The Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF)  has fired back at the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) over reports that Raila Odinga is indisposed.

This came shortly after ODM faulted Wiper party's boss Kalonzo Musyoka and other opposition topshots for spreading rumours on Odinga's health.

In a swift rejoinder, Wiper said that Kalonzo harbours no ill intent towards his long-time political ally and claims that he is spreading rumours against him is malicious.

Wiper added that ODM's move is "an act of desperation" to divert the nation from the cracks dogging the party within the broad-based government deal it made with the government.

"ODM's hollow moralizing and blame games cannot mask their betrayal of the Kenyan people," said Wiper in a statement.

"Their alliance with President Ruto's regime, the same administration responsible for bloodshed, economic ruin and repression, exposes them as co-authors of the nation suffering. ODM's latest statement is not about Raila's health. It is about their guilt, their fear, and their desperate attempt to justify a political marriage stinking of despotism."

Wiper further dismissed claims that Kalonzo was responsible for Odinga's loss at the African Union Commission chairperson contest.

The party instead argued that Odinga's loss stemmed from "diplomatic blunders" from the government which the party believes mirrors he political blunders the ruling administration is battling with.

Wiper, therefore, maintained that it will not allow Kalonzo to be dragged into ODM's "self-inflicted political decay".

Amid rumours that Odinga was battling severe health complications, ODM said that he had flown out of the country for private matters and his health is not at risk.
