On September 17, 2025, Johnnie Walker, in partnership with Nyashinski, hosted an exclusive
listening party at the Microbrewery to premiere his much-anticipated new album ‘Yariasu.’
The intimate event drew Nairobi’s top creatives, media,
influencers, cultural curators,
EABL executives, DJs, podcasters, and superfans, creating a rare gathering of
the city's creative
heartbeat.
Set for official release on September 19, 2025, ‘Yariasu’ was
performed live in its entirety with Nyashinski and his producers taking guests
on a journey through tracks that explore themes of resilience, ambition, creativity, and identity.
On the sidelines of the event, Alvin Mbugua, General Manager,
Spirits, EABL, presented Nyashinski with a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label engraved “from one
icon to another,” in recognition of his artistry and cultural impact.
“Nyashinski is not just a musician, he is a cultural force
whose artistry and fearless spirit bring the Keep Walking mantra to life. With ‘Yariasu,’
he continues to inspire a generation to dream bigger and walk bolder, and Johnnie Walker is
proud to be part of that journey,” said Mbugua.
Following the introspective tone of his 2020 debut ‘Lucky You,’
‘Yariasu’ marks a bold new chapter for Nyashinski; the album blends East African heritage with global
influences, reflecting his artistic evolution and his recent signing with Sony Music Africa.
“Yariasu is about being bold, open, and unafraid to try
different things while still enjoying life. I wanted this album to challenge
creativity and celebrate freedom of expression. Partnering with Johnnie Walker made it possible to share this
vision in such a meaningful way - to connect with a specially curated pool
of guests and fans, and to celebrate not just music, but the power of community
and culture,” said Nyashinski.
This celebration comes shortly after Nyashinski’s renewed
partnership as the Johnnie Walker Black Label brand ambassador, which was first
announced in September 2022, reaffirming the brand’s longstanding collaboration
with one of Kenya’s most influential artists.
“From Shin City to Walker Town and now Yariasu, our journey
with Nyashinski has consistently shaped culture, sparked conversations, and redefined how we
celebrate life’s remarkable moments,” added Alvin Mbugua.
“This partnership is about building legacies and making
history together, and we look forward to creating even more impactful moments
as it continues to grow.”
