Kenyan music stars Coster Ojwang, Njerae and Bensoul are set to headline the Blankets & Wine UK debut on Saturday, September 6, at Lister Park, Bradford, UK.

The concert, that is partnership with the British Council for the UK/Kenya season 2025, will also feature performances from Boutross, Elvis Wamenya and Mista ER on the live stage.

The collaboration with the British Council is in a bid to strengthen cultural connections between the two countries. As well, the event is part of Bradford’s year as the UK City of Culture 2025.

A cultural exchange initiative designed to spotlight and connect creative talents from both countries, the collaboration underscores Blankets & Wine’s mission to celebrate African creativity on global platforms.

The UK edition will feature live music and DJ sets across two stages, a curated “Onja Onja” food market with authentic African flavors, artisan craft stalls, and a family-friendly atmosphere.

And thanks to the UK/KE partnership, entry is absolutely free.

There’s no official waiting list, so potential attendees have been encouraged to keep their eyes peeled if they are still hoping to attend.

Tickets to free concerts are usually managed through a ticketless entry system, using a guest list or digital reservation to confirm attendance.

Access may also be granted through methods like winning a contest, volunteering at the event, applying to a special program, or receiving a personal invitation from the artist or promoter.

As it makes its UK debut, Kenyan revelers are also gearing up for the September edition of the show slated for September 28, the first this year.

Blankets & Wine is a festival that celebrates African music, culture, food, and art.

It is known for its laid-back, picnic-style setting and features both established and emerging African artists.

It was founded in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2008 and has since expanded with editions in Uganda and Rwanda.
