The fair underscored the critical role of such engagements in shaping students’ perspectives on career choices by exposing them to diverse opportunities, emerging industry trends, and valuable mentorship. Through these forums, learners gain the knowledge and confidence to make informed career decisions while honing essential soft skills such as pitching, networking, and communication.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Gabbey Gostina Malope, Group CEO of Toutele Agriculture College in South Africa, highlighted the importance of enterprise knowledge among young people. She noted that working within structured environments fosters professional discipline, innovation, and financial literacy—qualities essential for success in today’s competitive job market.
Reinforcing its commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent, Zetech University celebrated outstanding student entrepreneurs—known as Zepreneurs—who are excelling in innovation and enterprise development.
The top honor went to Derrick Mwaniki, a first-year Communication and Media student and founder of Soaplytes, who received a Ksh 100,000 award for his exceptional entrepreneurial innovation.
Mwaniki’s venture, which began as a small experiment in his hostel room, has grown into a thriving brand producing handmade, eco-friendly soaps made from natural ingredients—redefining self-care and sustainability.
