Kenyan designer Yvonne Afro Street was among the creatives who showcased their work during the L’Oréal Paris Walk Your Worth event in Nairobi, as the global beauty brand rolled out its internationally acclaimed women empowerment initiative, “Worth It,” in Kenya.

The showcase, held at the Sarit Expo Centre, blended fashion, culture and empowerment, spotlighting designers and women whose stories, L’Oréal Paris said, reflect confidence, representation and self‑worth.

In a press release on Sunday, March 8, L’Oréal Paris said the Nairobi edition of the initiative was designed to honour women who are redefining industries, uplifting communities and inspiring the next generation, bringing together leaders, creatives and everyday heroes.

“Kenyan women are driving progress in boardrooms, communities, and creative spaces with remarkable confidence and elegance. Rooted in our Worth It initiative, Walk Your Worth Nairobi amplifies their stories across Kenya,” said Marie Van Haesendonck, Managing Director, L’Oréal East Africa.

The brand said the event featured a runway celebrating the rich traditions and diversity of Kenyan culture, with local designers — including Yvonne Afro Street — presenting collections that fused contemporary style with local flair.

L’Oréal Paris said its “Worth It” initiative seeks to elevate the role of women in society by encouraging them to embrace individuality and claim their space, noting that recognising self‑worth can unlock potential that transforms families, businesses and communities.
