All eyes
will be on Masinde Muliro Stadium, Kanduyi, in Bungoma County, from October 17 to 18, as Nastic Sports Academy of Spain holds a two-day football trial. The program targets young talents from the region and offers scholarship opportunities to
train and study in Spain.
Two
rising stars who’ve already benefited from the program—Amos Wanjala and
Aldrine Kibet—are urging local youth not to miss out on the opportunity to be
scouted.
Amos
Wanjala, a product of St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale and now with Nastic
Academy in Spain, is preparing to join La Liga side Elche CF.
Wanjala
encouraged young players to take advantage of the opportunity, saying, “You
never know when your chance will come. This program changed my life; it can change yours, too.”
Another
shining example is Kibet, who passed through the Nastic program and plays for Celta Vigo, one of Spain’s top football clubs. Kibet urged
all youth in the region to attend the event, saying, “The program helped me a
lot. It’s a chance to dream big and go far.”
Nastic partnered with Kenya’s Talanta Hela, a flagship program launched under former Sports CS Ababu Namwamba. Talanta Hela aimed to develop sports and
creative talents from grassroots to global arenas.
Aspiring footballers are urged to show up in
numbers and give their best in what may be their breakthrough to Europe.
