The event brought together aviation professionals and families in a unique learning experience that saw learners take to the skies in two helicopters for short flights around Juja town.
For many of the young learners, it was a dream come true, a rare opportunity to experience real flight beyond the classroom.
School organisers said the Aviation Day will now become an annual event aimed at motivating students pursuing aviation studies at the institution.
Alice Wangari, a director at the facility, described the experience as unforgettable.
She noted that groups of learners were flown around Juja for approximately five minutes each, giving them firsthand exposure to aviation operations.
She added that the initiative aligns with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, which emphasizes hands-on and experiential learning.
The school’s principal, James Otula, said the flight experience would help aviation students connect classroom theory with practical application.
He noted that such exposure strengthens understanding and builds confidence among learners.
The helicopters landed and took off from the school’s playing field in well-coordinated intervals, drawing excitement from the crowd.
Wilson Osiako, an experienced pilot and alumnus of the school, urged learners to uphold discipline and maintain high levels of concentration if they aspire to succeed in the aviation industry.
“Aviation demands discipline, focus, and commitment,” he said, encouraging students to remain determined in pursuit of their dreams.
