In a statement released by the club, the Kakamega-based side revealed they have not resumed training since participating in the Dala 7s tournament, citing lack of funds as the primary challenge threatening their participation in the upcoming season.
“As we prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 KRU Championship season set to kick off on 16th November, Western Bulls RFC is facing a tough financial situation that has greatly affected our preparations,” the club said.
The statement further added that without adequate financial support, the club may be forced to miss the new campaign.
The management has called on fans, alumni, and the wider rugby fraternity to rally behind them in ensuring the team honors its fixtures.
“We are therefore appealing to our fans, well-wishers, alumni, and the wider rugby fraternity to support us financially as we strive to honor our fixtures this season. Your contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us get back on the pitch and continue nurturing young rugby talent from the Western region.”
Supporters willing to contribute have been encouraged to send donations through the club’s M-Pesa paybill number 522522, account number 1131768175.
Western Bulls, fondly known as “Echulusi,” have been instrumental in developing rugby talent in Western Kenya, producing several players who have gone on to represent top Kenya Cup sides and the national team.
However, the club’s current financial strain threatens to derail that legacy unless urgent help is received before the season kicks off next month.
