Former Harambee Stars team manager Willis Waliaula has backed
Nairobi United to advance to the further stages of the African Confederations
Cup following their 2-0 first-leg win over Tunisian giants Etoile Sportif du
Sahel
Speaking to Digital, Waliuala cited unity and good synergy between the
players and the technical bench as crucial to their impressive performances so
far this term.
“Teamwork has been
crucial in the team’s growth, plus the motivation they are being given is very
important and contributes a lot togiving good results,” said Waliauala.
The former Tusker FC team manager has also praised the sync
between head coach Nickolas Muyoti and Salim Ali, terming it as an invaluable
trait that will enhance their success this season.
“They know how to
unite players, and they have very good experience that has been very crucial in
the good results that we have witnessed at United that will take them very
far,” added Waliaula.
He has cautioned the Kenyan representatives to be wary of the
threat posed by their experienced opponents as they seek to secure passage to
the next round.
“Despite the win, they need to take that match very seriously;
they need to respect their opponents but not fear them. They are a good team
while playing at home, so tactical discipline will be crucial in the second leg,” he added.
