Kenyan Premier
League side Ulinzi Stars Football Club on Monday fired head coach Dunstan
Nyaudo after a poor run in the top division.
The former KPL champions
announced in a statement that the tactician had been relieved of his duties “with
immediate effect.”
“The management appreciates
Coach Nyaudo’s dedication, professionalism, and service to the team both on and
off the pitch during his time in charge.
“We extend our
sincere gratitude to Coach Nyuado for his contributions to the Ulinzi Stars
family and wish him the very best in his future endeavours,” the club said in the
statement.
The soldiers
have endured a difficult campaign winning just one out of the five matches they
have so far played.
They are placed 13th on the 18-teams league table with 5 points from 5 games.
The decision
marks the end of Nyaudo’s third stint at the helm of the military side,
bringing to a close yet another chapter in his long and storied relationship
with Ulinzi Stars.
A former player
between 1993 and 2002, Nyaudo was one of Ulinzi’s most-capped defenders and was
instrumental in talent scouting during his playing days.
He first took over as head coach in 2017 on an interim basis, before being confirmed in 2018 and later exiting in 2020 after a string of poor results.
He returned in
July 2024 after a successful spell with the club’s U20 side, helping to nurture
emerging talents.
However, despite
his best efforts to rebuild the senior team, Ulinzi finished 12th in the
2024/25 season.
His third appointment in August 2025 was seen
as a move to inject stability and youth into the squad, but results have been
inconsistent.
Ulinzi’s next league fixture against Bidco will be crucial, as the team seeks to regain momentum and restore confidence among the fans after a turbulent start to the campaign.
