During the multi-agency-led operation, two suspects, aged 24 and 27, were arrested. The raid involved NACADA investigators, the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and Operations Unit from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters, alongside officers from Mugutha Police Station.
Authorities recovered 26 black polythene bags containing rolled cannabis, 85 khaki sachets, 11 clear polythene packets of the dry greenish plant, a digital weighing scale, packaging materials, uncustomed cigarettes, two mobile phones, and Ksh 24,425 believed to be proceeds from illicit sales.
This marks the second major bust in Kimbo within a month, following a December operation that netted a suspect currently facing trafficking charges and cannabis valued at Ksh 3 million.
Speaking on the operation, NACADA CEO Dr Anthony Omerikwa said the crackdown is part of a broader national effort to dismantle drug supply networks.
“We are not just chasing peddlers; we are systematically crushing the entire supply and distribution networks that poison our communities,” he said. “It is only a matter of time before these criminal enterprises fold, their operators face prosecution, and their ill-gotten property is seized and forfeited.”
Dr Omerikwa also praised the local community for providing actionable intelligence, noting that resident cooperation is key to the success of sustained anti-drug operations.
NACADA has pledged continued pressure on distributors, with more networks across the country expected to face similar disruption.
