After a rough start, two losses and a draw, the team is determined to turn things around, with renewed energy and belief in camp.
Tusker midfielder Issa Lumumba expressed optimism ahead of the match, saying the team is prepared to deliver.
“We’ve trained well, and we’re ready to give our fans something to smile about. They should keep believing in us,” said Lumumba.
Club captain Charles Momanyi added that the squad is highly motivated ahead of the match.
“Even the one point we earned has boosted our morale. Shabana is a good team, but we’ve regained our rhythm, and the team spirit is excellent," he said.
Momanyi singled out Shabana’s Brian Michira as a dangerous player who they must tame if they are to win, but affirmed that Tusker’s tactical compactness and mental readiness will be key to their success on Sunday.
Head coach Charles Okere backed his players, saying:
“The boys are happy and mentally sharp. We’ve approached this game seriously. If we stay focused and take our chances, we’ll get the three points.”
But Okere is concerned about the level of officiating.
“We want better officiating. In the last matches, some players got yellow cards but stayed on the field, which is worrying. Let’s see improvement.”
