Tragedy as three family members perish in Tongaren fire

The blaze, whose cause is yet to be established, reduced the family’s home to ashes, leaving neighbours and relatives reeling from the tragedy.

Those who perished in the inferno have been identified as David Busuru, his wife Nancy Busuru, and their young grandson. Family members say they are struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.

“We are deeply pained. Losing three members of the same family at once is unbearable,” said family representative James Wanjala.

Soysambu Mitua Division Commissioner Solomon Nginai confirmed the incident, saying the bodies of the victims were taken to the Wamalwa Kijana Hospital mortuary in Trans Nzoia County.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have since launched investigations to establish the cause of the fire.
