Stanbic Aces head coach Maurice Obilo believes his side is gradually finding its rhythm despite admitting they were far from their best in their latest outing.

The bankers defeated USIU Flames 63-46 at USIU Grounds over the weekend in a National Women's Basketball Premier League clash to continue their impressive run in only their second season in the top flight.

"We did not play very well, but at least we won the game. We are picking up slowly, one game at a time," said Obilo.

The tactician attributed the sluggish performance to disrupted preparations, revealing that evening rains and work commitments at the bank affected the team's training sessions during the week.

"Last week we were distracted by the evening rain, and there were some things going on in the bank, so we did not really train well. But we are picking up," he explained.

Obilo was, however, encouraged by the team's progress, noting that his players are increasingly adapting to his system.

"They are already understanding the system. We played better than we did against USIU in the first leg. Slowly, I believe they are getting it right, and we will be better as we continue playing and continue working," he said.

The victory propelled Stanbic Aces to the top of the league standings with 32 points from 17 matches. The bankers have won 15 games and lost just three, with five matches remaining before the end of the regular season.
