Suspected drug peddler arrested in Umoja, 20 kilos of cannabis seized

According to a statement issued by the National Police Service (NPS), the operation, which followed extensive intelligence gathering, resulted in the recovery of approximately 20 kilogrammes of unprocessed cannabis, as well as 3,000 rolls and 33 packaged bundles of the drug.

All the items have been secured as evidence.

“This operation is part of the National Police Service’s sustained efforts to curb the distribution and abuse of narcotics within the city and across the country,” the NPS said, reaffirming its ongoing campaign to dismantle drug networks nationwide.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will appear in court.

The NPS praised the officers who participated in the operation for their vigilance and dedication to combating drug trafficking and the illicit alcohol trade.
