Mathare Women striker Jerrine Adhiambo has expressed confidence ahead of the club's debut season in the Kenya Women's Premier League, saying the team is well prepared to compete at the highest level.

Following the club's promotion from the National Super League (NSL), Adhiambo believes a successful pre-season campaign and the arrival of new signings have strengthened the squad and prepared them for the demands of top-flight football.

"We are ready for the Premier League, and I believe the pre-season matches have prepared us well. Our first target is to retain our Premier League status, and hopefully we can go on to win the title and qualify for the CAF Women's Champions League," said Adhiambo.

The forward has also set ambitious personal goals for the upcoming season, revealing that she hopes to finish as the league's top scorer while helping Mathare Women establish themselves among Kenya's elite clubs.

"I had a difficult spell, but I'm hoping to have a great season in the league," she added.

Adhiambo is equally determined to use the Premier League as a platform to take the next step in her career. Having previously represented the Harambee Starlets Under-20 team, she believes consistent performances in the top flight will boost her chances of earning a call-up to the senior national team.

Representing Kenya at senior level remains one of her biggest ambitions, and she is determined to impress throughout the season.

"I've given myself two Premier League matches to make an impact, and I believe the national team head coach will notice me," she said.

Mathare Women will be hoping their blend of experienced players, promising new signings and youthful talent will enable them to make a strong impression in their maiden season in the Kenya Women's Premier League.
