Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has officially unveiled the 2026 National Sevens Circuit calendar, setting the tone for another electrifying season of short-format rugby across the country.

The six-leg circuit burst into life with the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru on July 25 and 26, before winding through Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa, and Embu, and finally concluding with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi in September.

The opening leg in Nakuru is already shaping up as a blockbuster. Defending Prinsloo Sevens champions Strathmore Leos will be gunning for a historic third consecutive title at the venue, keen to start the campaign on a strong footing after finishing second overall in the 2025 circuit.

The Leos narrowly lost the overall crown to KCB Rugby last season and will be determined to close that gap early.

After Nakuru, the circuit heads to Kisumu for the Dala Sevens on August 1 and 2 before returning to the capital for the Kabeberi Sevens on August 15 and 16.

Action then shifts to the coast for the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa on August 22 and 23, followed by the Embu Sevens on September 5 and 6. The season finale will once again be staged at the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12 and 13.

The calendar announcement follows a thrilling 2025 season in which KCB Rugby reasserted its dominance in the men’s category.

The bankers clinched the overall title after reaching all six cup finals, winning four legs and finishing runners-up twice to accumulate 126 points. Strathmore Leos ended the season as runners-up, while Menengai Oilers claimed third place.

In the women’s category, Mwamba Ladies were in a class of their own. They dominated the 2025 National Sevens Circuit, completing a clean sweep by winning all three legs to be crowned overall champions. Northern Suburbs finished second, with Kenya Harlequins settling for third place.

With the dates now confirmed, clubs will shift focus to preparations as fans look forward to another season packed with speed, skill, and fierce rivalries on the sevens stage.
