National Super League
(NSL) outfit Soy United are aiming to sharpen their attack as gear up for their
second match of the season, set to take place on Wednesday afternoon against
Luanda Villa at the Eldoret Showground.
Speaking to Citizen
Digital, head coach Jeffers Odongo expressed disappointment over the team’s
goalless draw against Kisumu Allstars in their opening fixture, attributing the
result to missed scoring opportunities by his strikers.
He emphasized that the
technical bench is addressing this issue in training sessions to ensure the
team converts chances into goals in their upcoming fixture.
“To win matches you
need to score goals” Odongo said. “That’s something we must fix quickly because
we cannot win games when we are not taking our chances.”
The coach highlighted
that while the defense and midfield performed solidly, the lack of clinical
finishing in the final third cost them maximum points.
The team has been
working on improving composure in front of goal and building better
coordination among the forwards, with no major injury concerns ahead of the
fixture.
"We do not have
major injury issues, we are only working on our finishing because we need those
goals." He added.
