National Super League (NSL) outfit Soy United are aiming to sharpen their attack as gear up for their second match of the season, set to take place on Wednesday afternoon against Luanda Villa at the Eldoret Showground.

‎Speaking to Citizen Digital, head coach Jeffers Odongo expressed disappointment over the team’s goalless draw against Kisumu Allstars in their opening fixture, attributing the result to missed scoring opportunities by his strikers.

‎He emphasized that the technical bench is addressing this issue in training sessions to ensure the team converts chances into goals in their upcoming fixture.

‎ “To win matches you need to score goals” Odongo said. “That’s something we must fix quickly because we cannot win games when we are not taking our chances.”

‎The coach highlighted that while the defense and midfield performed solidly, the lack of clinical finishing in the final third cost them maximum points.

The team has been working on improving composure in front of goal and building better coordination among the forwards, with no major injury concerns ahead of the fixture.

‎"We do not have major injury issues, we are only working on our finishing because we need those goals." He added.

‎Meanwhile, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Super League enters Round five this week, with matches lined up from Tuesday through Thursday across various venues in the country.

‎The round begins on Tuesday, October 28, with Mwatate United welcoming Equity Bank FC at Wundanyi Stadium.

‎A busy Wednesday, October 29, will see eight matches played simultaneously at 3:00 p.m.

‎Among the headline fixtures, Soy United will host Luanda Villa at the Eldoret Showgrounds, while Kibera Blackstars face a tough test against Nzoia Sugar at the Hope Center in Kawangware.

‎Vihiga United will also take on Kisumu Allstars at the Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu in a highly anticipated Western derby.

‎Other matches scheduled for the same day include Fortune Sacco FC hosting MCF FC in Kirinyaga, Talanta FC meeting Gucha Stars at Ruaraka Ground, Mombasa United FC facing Naivas at the Mbaraki Sports Club, and Migori Youth FC clashing with 3K FC at the Green Stadium in Awendo.

‎The round will conclude on Thursday, October 30, with two fixtures: Kabati Youth FC will play MOFA at Thika Stadium, while Darajani Gogo host Nairobi City Stars at Vapor Grounds in Ngong.
