A meeting on Tuesday, chaired by the SHA Chairperson Dr. Abdi Mohamed, representatives from the Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF) and the Kenya Association of Private Hospital (KAPH) focused on implementing a unified, transparent, and sustainable healthcare system for Kenyans.
"The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships, resolving systemic challenges, and ensuring stable healthcare financing," SHA said in a statement.
The key outcomes of the meeting were to foster timely dialogue and address emerging issues promptly and also creating a new working arrangement to sustain the payment scheme for the public officers.
They also committed to continue addressing provider-specific concerns by liaising with respective federations, while also recognizing and upholding their contracts with individual health facilities.
SHA also hinted at launching a joint initiative to combat fraud within the healthcare system.
"Recognizing the crucial role that healthcare providers play in this effort, the initiative will leverage the existing anti-fraud framework established by the Ministry of Health and various insurance companies," SHA stated.
The Authority stated that it remains confident in its partnerships and its ability to achieve the mandate of Universal Health Coverage.
“By working hand-in-hand, SHA and healthcare providers are building a resilient, responsive, and equitable healthcare system that serves all Kenyans without interruption,” SHA added.
