Savara Mudigi, a Kenyan
singer-songwriter and member of the award-winning pop group Sauti Sol, has received Grammy consideration for Best African Music Performance
and Best Global Music Performance.
His hit
songs ‘Sianda’ from early this year and ‘Show You Off’, which dropped in
October 2025, were submitted to the Recording Academy Grammy for review
ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The program
opens a stage for emerging artists to shine and be recognized on their journey
to the prestigious music awards.
The online
entry window for Grammy U members ran from July 16 to 30, 2025, with eligible
recordings and videos considered for the Grammy Awards ballot.
Ahead of the
68th Annual Grammy Awards on February 1, 2026, nominations are set
to be revealed on November 7, 2025.
Savara
expressed his gratitude for the recognition, writing on X: “Honored to be
considered by the @recordingacademy for Best African Music Performance and Best
Global Music Performance.”
“Big love
to everyone who’s been part of this journey — the team, collaborators, and
every listener pushing the sound forward. This is just the beginning,” he
added.
The
recognition marks a major milestone in Savara’s solo career since Sauti Sol
went on a break.
In 2021, the
boy band received a Grammy certificate of recognition for their contribution to
Nigerian singer Burna Boy’s album ‘Twice as Tall’, which won Best Global Music
Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
Two years
later, in 2023, the group was invited to join the Recording Academy as voting
members.
