Safaricom Expands Ultra-Fast 5G Infrastructure to 45 Major Urban Centers Countrywide

Safaricom has announced the nationwide activation of 800 commercial 5G base stations, bringing ultra-high-speed mobile broadband to 45 major urban centers across 32 counties.
The massive infrastructure rollout empowers local manufacturing plants, healthcare clinics, and academic institutions to deploy industrial IoT solutions and AI-driven tele-health systems.
The company also unveiled subsidized 5G customer premises equipment (CPE) to broaden high-speed residential internet adoption in areas outside traditional fiber cable coverage.
