President William Ruto launched the Nyota project fund for youth at Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega County on Friday. The fund, worth five billion shillings, aims to empower young people to start and grow their businesses. The president emphasized the importance of such initiatives.

“For those political class who are pushing the young people of Kenya wafanye maandamano muulize ukipata uongozi mimi napata nini,” said William Ruto, president.
Seventy young entrepreneurs in each of the 1,450 wards will benefit from a 50,000 shillings grant.
“Kuna watu watasema Ksh.25,000 haifanyi chochote ukitumia akili Ksh.50,000 can grow your business,” said William Ruto, president.
“The Nyota programme is one of the solutions to address the complex challenges of youth employment,” said Qimiao Fan, country director World Bank Kenya.
