Nine Kenyan creators have been nominated for the 2025 TikTok Awards Sub-Saharan Africa, set to take place on December 6 in Johannesburg, celebrating the continent’s most creative, entertaining, and impactful digital storytellers.

This year’s edition, themed around creativity and community, will honour creators who turned ‘60 seconds into a movement,’ according to TikTok.

The awards will recognise excellence across categories such as food, education, entertainment, sports, and storytelling.

Among Kenya’s nominees are familiar digital names making waves across the region: @englishwithclem, @roy.kanyi, @valerie_keter, @anitasoina, @boxtoboxregista, @zozasportscast, @tunero_animations, @boyz_makekii, and @englishwithclem, who earned nods across multiple categories.

“Our annual awards are a moment for reflection and celebration where we build deeper relationships with the people who power the continent. At its core the TikTok awards celebrate the vibrant community who continue to inspire creativity, build community and spread joy on the platform while turning their passions into prosperous careers,” said Boniswa Sidwaba, TikTok’s Head of Content Operations for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Voting is open until November 14, 2025, with fans allowed one vote per category each day through TikTok’s official voting page using the hashtag #TikTokAwardsSSA.
