PUBG MOBILE powers the Oraimo campus tour at Kenyatta University

Based on the global gaming phenomenon PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, PUBG MOBILE has become a leader in the mobile gaming space since its launch in 2017. The game drops up to 100 players onto a remote island in a high-stakes, winner-takes-all showdown, challenging them to scavenge for weapons, vehicles, and supplies while battling to be the last one standing. Co-developed by LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS, a division of Tencent Games, and KRAFTON, Inc., PUBG MOBILE continues to push the boundaries of mobile esports worldwide.

At the heart of the activation is the PUBG MOBILE Campus Tournament — KU Squad Edition — where student teams will battle it out for glory and impressive prizes, including smartphones and power banks from Oraimo. The top three squads will walk away with major rewards: four phones for the first-place team, four phones for second place, and four powerbanks for third.
The tournament aims to showcase the university’s best gaming talent while fostering community, creativity, and competition on campus.
Beyond the intense esports action, attendees will be treated to thrilling live performances from some of Kenya’s most celebrated artists, including DJ Lyta, Dyana Cods, Ssaru, Wenda Wazimu, Unspoken Salaton, and Ochingli The Goat.
Their performances are expected to keep the crowd energized throughout the event, creating a lively festival atmosphere that bridges the worlds of music and gaming.
Fans visiting the PUBG MOBILE booth can look forward to exclusive giveaways and interactive experiences. The first 100 students to arrive will each receive a free PUBG MOBILE keychain, while those who bring a friend will score branded T-shirts
To amplify engagement, students are also encouraged to join the official PUBG MOBILE TikTok campaign by sharing videos from the event using the designated hashtag for a chance to win a free smartphone.
Oraimo and Boomplay will further enhance the experience with special offers, product displays, and gamified challenges, ensuring students remain engaged and entertained throughout the three-day celebration. Together, the three brands aim to create an unforgettable campus experience that celebrates technology, creativity, and youth expression.
“This partnership captures the spirit of Kenya’s youth — dynamic, connected, and creative,” said a representative from Oraimo. “We’re proud to bring together the excitement of gaming and the rhythm of music under one roof.”
As anticipation builds across campus, students are being urged to gather their squads, sharpen their skills, and prepare for an action-packed weekend. What awaits them is more than just an event — it’s a campus takeover, redefining the intersection of gaming, entertainment, and youth culture in Kenya.
