Dr. Oluga described the moment one 46-year-old beneficiary transitioned from an old, worn wheelchair to a new one as “a powerful flow of emotions.”
The woman, unable to walk, has long relied on her 72-year-old mother for care — a situation he said reflects the silent struggles many families face.
The initiative, carried out over the festive season, provided assistance to 54 households identified as being most in need. According to Dr. Oluga, the effort was driven by a personal commitment to support people whose circumstances often leave them unseen or underserved.
“This season is about care and compassion,” he said, emphasizing that improving the dignity and quality of life for vulnerable citizens remains a priority.
Community members and local leaders welcomed the support, noting that mobility aids and direct outreach programs can significantly lighten the burden on caregivers while restoring independence to beneficiaries.
