African giants 7-6 on post-match penalties on Sunday to seal a historic spot in
the group stages of the prestigious competition at the first time of asking.
The Kenyan debutants had carried a 2-0 first-leg advantage
from Nairobi, but the hosts levelled the tie 2-2 on aggregate after winning by
the same margin in regulation time, forcing the contest to be decided from the
spot.
Nairobi United will pocket Sh51 million after qualifying for
the group stage of the tournament.
The underdogs displayed exceptional resilience and
determination to overcome the seasoned North African giants, marking a defining
moment in Kenya’s football history.

whose dedication made the dream possible. He emphasized that the triumph was
not just a sporting milestone but also an inspiration to all Kenyans to pursue
excellence through hard work and collaboration.
