President Ruto embarks on 4-day Kisii and Nyamira tour

President William Ruto began a 4-day development visit of Kisii and Nyamira counties on Sunday by breaking ground for the expansion and upgrading of Kisii Stadium.

He later watched a football match between Shabana Football Club and a local team, and later handover a bus to Shabana.

His itinerary will see him hold meetings at the Kisii State Lodge with the two county governors, MPs, MCAs, Church and opinion leaders, and boda boda officials from the two counties.

On the development front, he will break ground for the long-awaited construction of Suneka Airstrip in Bonchari Constituency, Kisii County, inspection of the Kisii Cancer Centre (Nyaribari Chache) and the construction of a tuition block at Nyamira University (North Mugirango).

Additionally, the President will break ground/inspect construction of various roads, including Bobaracho-Manyasi-Tinga (Kitutu Cache North), Keumbu-Ibeno (Nyaribari Chache), and Sameta-Egetuki (Bomachoge).

Other roads whose construction will be launched during the President's visit are the Mochengo-Ayora-Maroo, Etago-Ekona-Geteri-Nyamaiya, Nyamarambe-Esaka-Nyabigena all in South Mugirango, Kisii County.

The President will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of Ikonge Modern Market (North Mugirango), commission Kegogi Market and inspect ongoing works at Nyakoe Market (Kitutu Chache North).

A foundation stone will also be laid for Mogongo Modern Market (Bomachoge Borabu) and construction works at Masi Market (Nyaribari Masaba).

On education matters, President Ruto will lay the foundation stones for the construction of Nyamira Kenya Medical Training College and Nyamira Comprehensive School in West Mugirango Constituency.

He will do the same for Keroka Technical Training Institute (Nyaribari Masaba) and Nyangweta Kenya Medical Training College in South Mugirango.

At the same time, the President will launch the construction of college and university students hostels at Nyamache Kenya Medical Training College (Bobasi), and Kisii University (Nyaribari Chache) and Kisii Polytechnic in Nyaribari Chache Constituency.

The busy programme also has other projects for the President to launch, inspect or commission, including the last mile Nyamira Water Supply Project (West Mugirango), Kisii Water Supply Project and Ibeno last mile electricity connectivity (Nyaribari Chache).

In South Mugirango, the President will break ground for the construction of Omingo Bridge and lay the foundation stone for the Nyachenge Affordable Housing Project.
