The African football governing body however announced the match scheduled to kick off from 3PM will be played behind closed doors due to security, safety and logistical reasons.
This is the second time the venue for the crucial clash is being relocated following the sudden demise of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday while undergoing treatment in India.
The match was initially scheduled to be staged at Nyayo Stadium but was moved to Kasarani to pave way for the state funeral service of the late veteran politician to be held on Friday.
Kasarani has however been rendered unplayable after the government moved the public body viewing ceremony for Odinga's body to the facility after massive crowds made it impossible for the planned transfer to proceed as scheduled at the National Assembly.
Kenya Police through Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had requested a postponement of the match following the passing of the former Prime Minister but the appeal was rejected by CAF.
“The match is on at the same time but it has been moved to Ulinzi Complex. Our big blow is that CAF has locked out fans from attending the match, but we will ensure we get the three points. We must win in the honour of Raila Odinga,” said Police FC Chairman, Munga Nyale.
Kenya Police qualified for the second preliminary round after eliminating Somalia’s Mogadishu City Club on away goal rule after a 3-3 aggregate deadlock in the first preliminary round in September.
