Police in Baringo County have arrested a man found in possession of cannabis valued at approximately Ksh.2 million during a security operation in Timboroa on October 13, 2025.

According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS), officers from Timboroa Police Station intercepted a grey metallic Toyota Noah, along the Nakuru–Eldoret Highway following credible intelligence that the vehicle was being used to transport narcotics.

“The vehicle was suspected of transporting cannabis,” the NPS said.

Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, officers discovered four sacks containing 759 brooms of cannabis, which were promptly seized as evidence.

The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the vehicle was impounded and taken to the station for further examination.

The NPS confirmed that the suspect remains in custody and will be processed and arraigned in court once investigations are complete.

In its statement, the Police Service commended the officers involved in the operation for their swift and coordinated response, noting that the arrest underscores the ongoing national efforts to curb drug trafficking and the distribution of illicit substances.

“The National Police Service commends the officers for their vigilance and reaffirms its commitment to ridding the country of drugs and illicit alcohol,” the statement read.
