The Rift region produced thrilling action as elite gamers Moses Ndarwa and Bukhari Kasim emerged champions at the Kenya Esports Rift Series held at the Rupaz Fun and Fitness Center in Eldoret City.

The event, which drew over 300 participants, was part of the national esports circuit that continues to grow in popularity across Kenya. Players battled for a place in the National Finals slated for December 12, 2025, in Nairobi.

In the EA FC 26 (console) category, experienced gamer Moses Ndarwa outclassed rising star James Mwanzia in a pulsating 4–3 final. Ndarwa had taken an early 2–0 lead but was forced to dig deep after Mwanzia staged a stunning comeback to lead 3–2. Ndarwa turned the tide to seal the win and the title.

“It was a tough final, and James really pushed me to my limits,” said an elated Ndarwa. “Winning here in Eldoret means a lot because the competition was strong, and the energy from the crowd was incredible.”

Both Ndarwa and Mwanzia qualified for the National Finals alongside Makueth Geil, Ian Jared, and James Waweru, who finished among the top performers in the Rift edition.

In the eFootball Mobile category, Bukhari Kasim displayed composure and skill to edge out Keah Duoth 2–1 in another closely fought final.

Kasim, Duoth, and Manyok Machar also secured their tickets to the national showdown in Nairobi.

“The level of play was really high, but I stayed disciplined and trusted my strategy,” said Kasim. “I’m proud to represent the Rift region and ready to go for the top prize in Nairobi.”

Esports Kenya Federation President Ronny Lusigi lauded the success of the Rift Series, emphasizing the federation’s goal of taking competitive gaming beyond the capital.

“This event fulfills our pledge to bring esports to the grassroots,” said Lusigi. “The turnout and quality of play in Eldoret show how much potential there is across Kenya.”

Zachary Ramogo, of Rupaz Fun and Fitness Center, expressed pride in hosting the event and reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing young esports talent.

“We’re thrilled by the massive turnout and enthusiasm from players and fans,” said Ramogo. “Hosting the Rift Series has been a proud moment, and we’ll keep supporting esports as a tool for youth engagement.”

With the Eldoret leg now concluded, the Kenya Esports Series moves to the Coast region for the Mombasa City Edition on November 15, followed by Kisumu City on November 22, before culminating in the National Finals in Nairobi on December 12, 2025.
