Over 200 golfers to battle for Ksh.1M prize at Thika Greens Corporate Masters

Thika Greens Golf Resort will this weekend play host to the inaugural Corporate Masters Invitational, a premier three-day golfing extravaganza that has attracted top golfers from across Kenya and the wider East African region.

The tournament, which tees off on Friday and runs through Sunday, has attracted elite players including Karanga Michael, John Lejirma, Elvis Muigua, Josphat Rono, Daniel Kiragu, among others.

Nearly 200 golfers have confirmed participation in the golfing bonanza.

Golfers from Uganda including Joseph Akena, Godfrey Kambale, Kasozi Joseph and Titus Okwong as well as Rwandan players Dusabe Felix and Ndindabahizi Dida, are part of the array of elite players participating in the event.

The event promises an exciting mix of competitive golf and family-friendly activities, offering a perfect blend of sport and recreation for both participants and spectators.

Sponsored by Corporate Masters, the golfing showpiece boasts a Ksh.1 million prize purse, the largest amateur prize in Kenya, further elevating its status on the national golfing calendar.

According to Corporate Masters Marketing Director Martin Kinyua, the Invitational aims to bring together top golfers from Kenya and the wider East African region to foster regional camaraderie and promote the growth of the sport.

“We are anticipating a very successful tournament going by the high number of golfers who have expressed interest in participating. Apart from the golf, there will be plenty of fun activities for spectators and families,” said Kinyua.

He added that the tournament will commence with a morning tee-off at 7a.m, with golfers expected to take to the course and battle it out for top honours.

“We are delighted to host some of the biggest names in golf during this tournament. We have partnered with several corporate brands to organise this challenge. The Thika Greens course is in excellent condition, and the greens provide an ideal environment for competitive play,” he stated.
