One shot dead, police officers including OCPD injured in Laikipia bandit attack

One person was killed in Doldol, Laikipia County on Friday while several police officers were injured following a bandit attack in the region.

Tigania East OCPD Emmanuel Kiplagat was leading an operation to retrieve livestock reportedly stolen from Matabithi, Meru County, three weeks ago when the bandits struck killing the man and injuring several officers in the process.

Kiplagat sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder during the altercation and is currently recuperating at a local hospital.

Despite Kiplagat and his team recovering 300 livestock prior to the ambush, the animals were once again stolen by suspected bandits.
