Bodaboda riders from Suna West and Nyatike in Migori County have recovered three motorcycles stolen three months ago.

Two of the motorcycles were recovered within Suna West, while the third was found in God Kachalo Ward, in Nyatike.

God Kweru bodaboda riders’ group chairperson, Benard Ochola, said they managed to apprehend the suspect when he attempted to sell one of the stolen motorcycles in Nyatike.

He added that the suspect was handed over to the police, who have since launched investigations into the matter.

His sentiments were echoed by Suna Lower Boda Boda Riders’ Group Chairperson Henry Otieno and Nyatike Sub-county Boda Boda Riders’ Chairperson, Reagan Okoth, who expressed concern over the growing number of criminals targeting riders in the region.

Okoth noted that apart from losing their motorcycles, several riders have also lost their lives at the hands of the assailants.

He appealed to the police to work closely with boda boda operators to eliminate the criminal gangs preying on them.
