TH3 Swish head coach Ariel Okal has challenged his charges to shift their focus to the postseason after the side officially secured a place in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) National Women's Basketball Premier League playoffs with a hard-fought 61-52 victory over Lady Titans at the USIU Grounds on Sunday.

The victory saw Swish reach the 30-point mark after 18 matches, having registered 12 wins against six defeats. With four regular-season fixtures remaining, the side has now guaranteed itself a place in the playoffs and will use the remaining matches to fine-tune for the title chase.

Okal praised his players for responding positively after losing concentration in the middle stages of the contest before producing a strong finish.

"The girls picked up from where they left off last week by bagging another win and increasing their chances of competing in the Kenya Basketball Federation playoffs that will start in about a month's time. We started really well.

"We had some lapses in the second and third quarters, but the girls recognized their mistakes, rectified them, and closed the game really well in the fourth quarter. We had players who were clutch, attacking the paint, drawing fouls and converting their free throws," said Okal.

Having now sealed a playoffs berth, the coach believes the remaining league matches will serve as preparation for the business end of the season.

"With yesterday's win, Swish has clinched a playoff slot. Everything moving forward is about preparing for the postseason and trying to win as many games as possible to build momentum.

Our dream is to compete in the finals, and we want to give ourselves the best chance of making that happen," he added.

The victory strengthens TH3 Swish's credentials as one of the teams capable of challenging for the championship when the playoffs tip off next month.
