Njuguna shines as Kenyan masters swimmers dominate Zimbabwe Champs

The event, hosted at Harare International School in Mount Pleasant, brought together 34 swimmers 27 from Zimbabwe and 7 from Kenya in a thrilling showcase of endurance, skill, and sportsmanship.
Team Kenya emerged with a total of 58 medals, including 32 gold, 17 silver, and 9 bronze.
Olive, a dedicated member of staff at the East African School of Aviation (EASA), delivered a flawless performance, winning all her nine races.
Her victory not only brought pride to Team Kenya but also to her employer, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, which has been promoting fitness and sports participation among staff.
EASA Director, Dr. Serah Waitiki, led staff in celebrating Olive’s golden achievement, describing her as an inspiration who embodies excellence, discipline, and determination.
Other Kenyan swimmers also put up impressive performances. Jacqueline Macharia won 10 medals, nine of them gold, while Clement Ngeci,Lucy Kavila,Anne Chogo, Sharon Chebii, and Grishon Onyango added to Kenya’s impressive tally.
Kenya’s women dominated their events, drawing praise from spectators and officials alike.
Kenya’s Assistant Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Justine Ikumiru, congratulated the team for flying the national flag high and promoting Kenya’s sporting spirit abroad.
The team now shifts focus to the Kiambu Aquatics Annual Masters Championship on November 29, 2025, at Potterhouse School in Runda, before heading to South Africa for the 41st National Masters Championship in March 2026.
Their triumph in Zimbabwe marks yet another proud moment for Kenya in international swimming.
