Spotify has unveiled a new feature that gives users a weekly
snapshot of their listening habits, offering a quick, personalised look at the
artists, songs and highlights that shaped their past month on the platform.
The feature, dubbed ‘listening stats,’
is rolling out to both Free and Premium users across more than 60 markets.
According to Spotify, it is designed to help listeners “relive
your week in music in a fun, sharable snapshot” while also surfacing playlists
inspired by a user’s tastes.
The tool compiles a user’s top
artists and songs from the previous four weeks and presents them alongside a
rotating weekly highlight.
Spotify says these highlights may capture milestones, standout
discoveries or memorable fan moments; elements meant to showcase “what makes
your listening unique.”
It also complements the
platform’s existing discovery tools such as daylist, Release Radar and Discover
Weekly. For users seeking a longer-term view of their habits, Spotify notes
that its annual Wrapped feature remains the definitive summary.
Sharing is central to the new
feature: users can post their full stats or individual weekly highlights
directly from the Spotify app to platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp, or
send them to friends on Spotify.
To access the feature, users need
to tap their profile image, open the menu and select the “listening stats” tab.
The section then offers insights and a share button for quick posting.
Spotify says the rollout is aimed at helping listeners explore
their music identities in a more playful and regular way.
