Newly appointed Police FC head coach Dusan Stojanovic has vowed to restore the reigning Kenya Premier League champions to their winning ways and build a side capable of competing among Africa’s elite clubs.

The Serbian tactician was officially unveiled on Sunday evening at the Police Sacco Stadium, shortly after the team’s 0–0 draw with Posta Rangers.

Speaking during his first press briefing, Stojanovic expressed optimism about the club’s direction and underlined his commitment to hard work and unity as the foundation of his tenure.

“We know what we were in the past, and I hope we will again be present,” Stojanovic said. “We can promise hard work, we can promise never to give up, and we will always fight for our target and goals.”

The 44-year-old revealed that he was attracted by the club’s long-term project and vision.

“It was the project, where we are now and where we want to be, and that is to be at the top of the continent,” he emphasized.

Despite admitting limited exposure to the Kenyan Premier League, Stojanovic noted that his experience in East Africa would be key in adapting quickly.

The coach previously guided Uganda’s SC Villa to their 17th league title during the 2023/24 season and also served as assistant coach at Egyptian giants Zamalek, under fellow Serbian Milutin Sredojevic and Belgian Yannick Ferrera.

His appointment comes after the departure of Burundian tactician Etienne Ndayiragije, who left the club earlier in the week after leading Police to their historic first-ever league crown in 2024. Stojanovic’s immediate task is to stabilize the squad and mount a strong title defense with the team now out of the CAF Champions League.

Police FC’s next challenge will be against Sofapaka (Batoto ba Mungu) at their home ground. This fixture is expected to give fans the first real glimpse of the Serbian’s tactical approach.
