A new chapter for tchoukball in Kenya began today as the Kenyan Tchoukball Federation (KTF) held its highly anticipated elections at the Nyayo National Stadium. The event saw a wave of new leaders from various counties elected, tasked with steering the sport towards greater national recognition and development.

The elections culminated in the appointment of Jamal Ali as the new President of the federation. In his acceptance speech, Ali laid out an ambitious vision for his tenure, promising a transformative period for the sport.

"This is the beginning of a bright future of Kenyan tchoukball as the new elected leaders we will work together to perform and deliver our best,” he noted.

Ali will be deputized by Angela Achieng’, who was elected as the First Vice-President. Hailing from Nyamira County, Achieng brings a grassroots perspective to the leadership, with a clear focus on expanding the sport’s footprint beyond its current strongholds.

"As an elect First Vice-President my goal is to create visibility and make this sport more vibrant in schools and the community in general," she noted.

The electoral process was closely monitored by the Sports Registrar, Rose Wasike, who was present to ensure the exercise was conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Addressing the newly elected officials, Registrar Wasike stressed the importance of integrity and good governance in their new roles.

"These new leaders should be transparent, accountable and maintain professional ethics so as to promote unity among the members of the Kenyan tchoukball federation,” she stated.

The sentiment of unity and growth was echoed by Victor Kemboi, the Uasin Gishu county tchoukball secretary. He emphasized that the elections were a crucial step in a larger strategy to raise the sport's profile nationwide.

"With the right leadership, tchoukball can be a very successful sport in Kenya.”

With a leadership team now officially in place and a clear mandate for development, the future of Kenyan tchoukball appears poised for a successful and progressive new era.
