‎National Super League (NSL) side Naivas FC will be looking to maintain their early momentum in the second tier league this Saturday against MCF.

‎The outfit opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Fortune Sacco in their season opener last weekend, a result that placed them fifth on the table, level on points with early leaders Nzoia Sugar.

‎Speaking to Citizen Digital ahead of their next fixture, Naivas FC jead coach Elvis Ayani expressed optimism, saying his players are ready for another strong performance, but expects a tough test from MCF, who will be desperate to bounce back after suffering defeat in their opening match.

“It’s going to be a competitive clash because MCF will come hungry for their first win,” Ayani said.

‎Beyond the on-field battle, the tactician also highlighted the logistical and financial hurdles that clubs face in the NSL.

The second-tier league brings together 20 teams from across Kenya, often requiring long-distance travel to fulfill fixtures. According to the coach, this has placed a heavy burden on many teams’ budgets.

“The cost of travelling upcountry for most of these games is very high. FKF should prioritize finding a league sponsor to help ease these operational challenges,” he added.

‎Despite the difficulties, Ayani remains optimistic that his squad can build on their strong start and challenge for promotion to the Kenya Premier League later in the season.
