Nairobi United returned to winning ways with a 3–1 triumph over struggling Bandari FC in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) at Dandora Stadium on Tuesday.

Prince Buregeya, Enock Machaka, and Shami Kibwana found the net to help the NaiBois snap a brief blip that saw Nicholas Muyoti’s side lose 3-0 to Sofapaka in their first match after the CAF Confederation Cup success.

Central midfielder Geoffrey Ojunga netted Bandari’s consolation. The defeat added to the Dockers’ woes who have won only once in six outings this season.

The win moved Nairobi United to sixth on the table with nine points, while Bandari slipped to 14th with six.

The match began with a thrill, after Nairobi United made their statement almost immediately. Prince Buregeya opened the scoring, delivering a corner kick in the fifth minute. Naibois maintained a defensive streak against Bandari FC.

Bandari FC doubled their efforts and equalized it at the 38th minute, Geoffrey Ojunga delivering a strong long-range shot past the goalkeeper.

The first half ended in a draw even after three minutes of added time.

In the second half, Nairobi FC took the lead, an incident at the goal area earning them a penalty kick.

Enock Machaka capitalized on this and converted it at the 56th minute. Bandari FC responded with substitutions that added no changes to the game.

Shami Kibwana, a substitute for Nairobi FC, delivered the decisive goal at the 85th minute that sealed the game. Despite extra time of four minutes, the results remained in favour of Nairobi United.

This win comes as a confidence booster to them after their defeat by Sofa paka. The coach was elated, attributing the step up at the second half to their outstanding transitions.

"We conceded through transitions in the first half, and it was an area we needed to work on. I'm happy we had more attacks in the second half and it was a positive way to work around it,” he stated.
