After a solid
performance that earned Nairobi United a crucial 1–1 draw against NEC FC of
Uganda, and a qualification to the second round of the CAF Confederation
preliminary match, goalkeeper Kevin Oduor is now dreaming big.
He hopes outstanding
performances between the stick can attract the attention of big clubs across
Africa and beyond, and for this, he is aiming to give even better show, as the
CAF debutants aim to make a footprint at the continental stage
The 1-1 draw against
the Ugandan opponents earned the team an aggregate 3-3 draw, scraping to the
next hurdle, where Tunisian side Étoile Sportive du Sahel, lie in wait.
"Saving is
my work, and I have to give it my all. I’m here to help Nairobi United, and I’m
grateful to my teammates for always pushing me," he said.
The keeper added
that this tournament is more than just competition it’s an opportunity.
“My personal
goal is to go abroad and play professionally. This platform gives me a chance
to be seen,” Oduor said.
His efforts now shift to the upcoming challenge,
as Nairobi United prepare to face Tunisia’s ES Sahel on October 17 in the
second preliminary round, a match that brings a familiar face, former Gor Mahia
defender Alphonse Omija, who recently joined the Tunisian giants.
With Oduor in
top form and a dream fuelling his performance, Nairobi United’s backline looks
ready for battle and hopefully, take his career to the next level.
