Kenyan midfielder Kenneth Muguna has completed a move to Botswana Premier League side Sua Flamingoes FC, ending his short stay at Township Rollers amid reports of financial challenges at the Gaborone-based club.

Muguna was officially unveiled on January 7, 2026, after signing a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Flamingoes.

The move comes barely five months after the experienced Harambee Stars international joined Township Rollers in August 2025 on a two-year deal following his departure from Kenya Police FC.

Despite the brief spell, Muguna featured for Rollers, making his debut as a second-half substitute in a goalless draw against Orapa United on September 13, 2025, where he was introduced in the 60th minute.

Sua Flamingoes will now look to benefit from Muguna’s vast experience as they push for the league title. After 14 rounds of matches, the Flamingoes sit fourth on the Botswana Premier League table with 26 points, six behind leaders and city rivals Gaborone United.

Township Rollers are sixth on 23 points, albeit with a game in hand. Interestingly, the two clubs are set to face each other when the league resumes on January 24, 2026, setting up an immediate reunion with Muguna’s former side.

Renowned for his vision, creativity, and leadership in midfield, Muguna began his professional career with Western Stima in 2016, a standout season in which he won both the Kenyan Premier League Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year awards.

He later enjoyed two successful spells with Gor Mahia, captaining the club to three league titles. His career also includes stints abroad with Albania’s KF Tirana and Tanzania’s Azam FC, before returning home to win another league title with Kenya Police FC ahead of his move to Botswana.

His arrival at Sua Flamingoes is viewed as a significant boost as the club eyes a strong second half of the season and a sustained title challenge in Botswana’s top flight.
