Moses Omondi clinches ODM ticket for Ugunja by-election

Moses Omondi will be the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party flagbearer in the Ugunja Parliamentary by-election which is slated for November 27, 2025.
Mr.
Omondi was declared the winner after winning the ODM party nominations with
5,329 votes followed by Joseph Otieno Alur who garnered 2,789 votes.
According
to the results as declared by the Returning Officer Felix Ngala, the last
contestant Eng. Fredrick Omondi Owino came a distant third with 1,336 votes.
Speaking
after he was declared the winner and handed over the ODM party’s interim
certificate, Mr. Omondi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of
Ugunja for having faith and trust in him.
He
equally thanked the ODM party election officials for conducting a credible and
peaceful nomination process.
Mr.
Omondi took the opportunity to also thank his worthy opponents Joseph Alur and
Fredric Omondi Owino and appealed to them to now come down and support him come
27th November by-election.
If
elected on November 27, Mr. Omondi - who worked as the Ugunja Constituency
Manager for 13 years under the current former MP and Energy Cabinet Secretary James
Opiyo Wandayi - will be the second Member of Parliament for the region.
