The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) has withdrawn its candidate
Edgar Busiega in the upcoming Malava Parliamentary by-election, in favor of the
Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) aspirant Seth Panyako.
While making the announcement on Thursday, DCP deputy party leader
Cleophas Malala said the United Opposition struck a consensus to field one
candidate against the UDA candidate in the November by-elections.
Malala said it was important for the opposition to head to the November
polls united, if they are to clinch the seat.
“By the time I have conceded, it is after I have assessed his abilities,
and indeed established that I am leaving Malava in safer hands,” said Busiega.
Panyako, on his part, stated: “Na ni juhudi ya kila Mkenya kupigania
Malala chimed in: “Na viongozi wetu wote wamekubaliana kwamba hatuwezikuwa
