Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti has joined other leaders across the country in mourning the passing of Kenya’s former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
In her condolence message, Governor Wavinya described the late Odinga as a patriotic Kenyan and a true statesman whose legacy will remain deeply rooted in the country’s democratic journey.
Governor Wavinya said Raila was a patriotic Kenyan and recalled that when she joined Parliament in 2008, Raila was already serving there. She noted that although she was young at the time Raila Amollo Odinga was among those who mentored her.
She praised the late Prime Minister for his dedication to constitutional reforms and his strong advocacy for devolution and women leadership. She noted that Baba was among those who fought for the current Constitution, championed devolution, and supported women leaders.
The Governor extended her condolences to the family, friends, and supporters of the late Odinga, expressing sympathy to his wife Dr. Ida Odinga, their children, relatives, and supporters, and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
