A trader at Gitare Market in Runyenjes, Embu County, is counting losses exceeding KSh. 150,000 after her bar was raided on Saturday night.

According to the bar owner, Mercy Livio, thieves broke in from the back of the establishment.

They stole several items, including assorted beers, the club’s sound system, and two television screens.

She was alerted by a worker early on Sunday morning.

A report has been filed at Rukuriri Police Post, and Mercy is appealing to residents for any information that could help recover the stolen items.

She has also called for increased security for market traders during the festive season, citing a rise in such raids at this time of year.
