Ride-hailing services provider Little Cab has announced the integration of its corporate invoicing platform with the Kenya Revenue Authority's Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS), enabling the automatic generation of tax-compliant invoices for its corporate clients.

The move is expected to streamline billing and expense management processes for businesses that use the ride-hailing firm's corporate transport services, while aligning transport-related transactions with Kenya's digital tax compliance requirements.

Under the integration, corporate customers will automatically receive eTIMS-compliant invoices for transport services, eliminating the need for manual invoice generation and simplifying reconciliation of transport expenses.

eTIMS is a digital invoicing platform introduced by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to electronically capture, validate and transmit tax invoices in real time. The system forms part of KRA's efforts to improve Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance, enhance transparency and reduce tax leakages.

Speaking during the announcement, Little Cab Corporate Affairs Manager Nyawira Maina said the integration was aimed at helping businesses meet compliance requirements while improving operational efficiency.

"Businesses today require seamless and transparent systems that support both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. By integrating with eTIMS, we are making it easier for our corporate clients to manage transport expenses while ensuring they receive tax-compliant invoices automatically," she said.

According to the company, the integration is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its corporate mobility services and improve the customer experience for enterprise clients. The system is expected to improve billing accuracy and reduce administrative work associated with transport expense management.

Kenya Revenue Authority Assistant Commissioner for eTIMS Tax Operations Caroline Wacuka welcomed the development, saying wider adoption of digital invoicing systems by private sector firms would support tax compliance efforts.

"The integration of systems such as those used by Little Cab demonstrates how technology can simplify compliance for taxpayers while improving the integrity and transparency of business transactions. As more businesses embrace eTIMS, we are creating a more efficient, accountable and digitally enabled tax ecosystem," said Wacuka.

The announcement comes amid increasing adoption of eTIMS by businesses across the country following its nationwide rollout as part of efforts to strengthen revenue administration and improve transparency in commercial transactions.

Corporate customers are expected to benefit from automated invoicing, improved record keeping and easier reconciliation of transport-related expenses.
