Leopards and Tusker are sitting in unfamiliar territories after their opening four rounds, in position 15 and 16 consecutively, but Situma expects them to bounce back strongly after the current international break.
Defending champions Kenya Police will be aiming to retain their title with Situma expecting stiff competition for the title this season.
“When you look at this season there are teams like Shabana, Posta and Bidco who have packaged themselves as a surprise group while teams like Tusker have struggled in their first four matches as well as newbies APS Bomet.
"But, I am very positive that this international break will give such teams a breather to bounce back very strongly,” Situma said.
Situma has also hailed league leaders Shabana, Posta Rangers and Bidco United for their strong start this season, ranking 1, 2 and 4 respectively so far.
“At the top when you look at leaders Shabana, they have picked up from where they left last season which they finished very strongly.
They started very poorly last season but finished very well and another one is Bidco United whom despite losing almost the entire team in 20 players with signing of closer to that number of players I can say head coach Antony Akhulia has done a brilliant job,” said Situma who also featured for Sofapaka.
He continued, “He has been able to build a very strong team which has now won all their first two matches this season.
Posta have also done a good job with two wins and a draw in their first three matches to sit second on the same points with Shabana,” Situma added.
