The Government, through the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), has announced plans to partially close sections of roads in Nairobi to pave the way for construction.

In a notice on Monday, KURA said that a section of Ngong Road,  between Windy Ridge and Westwood Park Road in Karen, will be closed for a week as from Thursday, June 11, to allow for the installation of twin cross culverts.

Likewise, a section of Kenyatta Avenue, Valley Road and Jakaya Kikwete Road will also be closed from Friday, June 12, for a period of 8 months to allow for the construction of a bridge.

Also, Haile Selassie Avenue will experience a four-month closure from Friday, June 12, for the construction of another bridge.

KURA Director General Engineer Silas Kinoti has urged motorists to use alternative routes and to be guided by police and traffic marshals to ensure the safety of all road users and minimal traffic disruptions.
