The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has assured that all preparations have been finalised to ensure a transparent and seamless process.
While overseeing the opening of exam papers at Kibra DC on Monday morning, Education Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bitok said the ministry is fully prepared for the exercise.
“We are pleased to announce that we're ready to begin KPSEA and KJSEA exams. It's the first time we are having 1.1 million learners of KJSEA who will be joining grade 10,” Bitok stated.
“All stakeholders have been mobilised so that this exam is administered well. All learners and examinations are ready,” he added.
He further assured that the government has released all necessary funds to facilitate the exams and urged teachers and invigilators to conduct the assessments with integrity.
“Nobody should have any excuses for not being facilitated to administer. We have enough spaces in high school to accommodate grade 9 into grade 10,” said Bitok.
Meanwhile, Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Chief Executive Officer David Njengere assured of the ministry’s readiness in the new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) assessment structure.
“In CBC we have assessments administered in grades 4,7, and 8 Grade 9 already has 40%. They are only looking for 60% in these exams starting today,” Njengere said.
“We are confident that we are going to deliver a quality exam to the 3.4m learners.”
The KPSEA and KJSEA exams commence after the KCSE, which began on October 21, 2025 highlighting the Kenya’s continued transition from the 8-4-4 system to the CBC.
KPSEA exams will take place from October 27 to 29, while KJSEA exams will be conducted from October 27 to November 3, 2025.
